Adding New Class Groups

The Class Group Screen provides a class group table that houses the existing class groups for the Group customer. Upon selection of a specific class group the Class Group Screen displays additional tabbed information. The user can add a new time slice under the class group, which allows the user to drill down through multiple tabs to add Classes and Class variables.

  • Class Group Details tab houses all of the configurable fields associated with the class group type.
  • Classes tab houses the class group structure and classes that are child nodes of the root node class for the class group.
  • Class Rule Variables tab houses the logic that will form class rules. The class rules will use the pre-defined class rule variables in the execution of membership transactions in order to evaluate a client's membership to a class.

Miscellaneous Screen Details:

  • All classes belonging to the same class group should be defined as the same type (Billing, Eligibility, Reporting, etc...).

Note: The system does not enforce this as a restriction.

  • When the Class Group Screen is loaded initially, the first record in the class group table is selected by default.

  • To prevent duplication of class group names under the same Group customer, the system validates the name entered for a new class group.

Steps to Add Class Group Details

Follow the steps explained below to add class group details.

Add a Time Slice

  1. Open the Customer record (using the search a customer). The Group Customer screen opens.

  2. Click Class Groups on the Entity Navigation list. The Class Group screen will appear with Class group list.
  3. Click Class group row (row expander button) in the table. The row expands displaying the below tabs:
    • Details: the default tab that displays the Agreement details of the class group.
    • Classes:allows the user to add classes and displays the classes in a tree-like structure.
    • Class Rule Variables: allows the user to add class rule variables.

Important: A Compare will be visible and enabled on the screen, if at least two time slice records are available and selected to compare.

Add Classes

Displays the classes that are added to a class group in a tree-like structure. In each structure, there is one root node (which has no parent node) and one default orphan class node. The user can copy and also create a new child class. Click the root node to add a new class in the group. The below tabs are displayed.

Definition: displays the class group definition details by default.

Plan Coverages: the user can associate the plan coverages on clicking the Associatesub-link available under this option. Select the Plan coverages to associate, Effective date and click OK. The Plan Coverages tab displays the sub-plans attached to the class. The Plan Coverages can be added from the Agreement screen to associate for the class here.

Important: The plan segment defines the coverage levels of a plan. Selecting a plan segment in the list presents the user with plan segment details and plan segment participants. A class may be established for a purpose other than eligibility, and therefore, not related to any plan. For example, a class may be established for billing or reporting purposes.

Membership Rules: click the tab and select the membership rules for the class group.

Class membership rules define the logic that determines whether a member belongs to a class. Selecting the class rules allows the user to view the tests and conditions constructed from the predefined class rule variables.

Class Rule Variables: allows the user to add new variables that may be applicable to a particular class. Variables defined at the class level are not visible to other classes. Click Add variable link enter the variable details and click Save.

Important: The Class Rule Variable names should not contain any blank spaces. All global and local variables should be declared in the context that they will be used.

Members: provides a list of members along with the name and tax identification number of each one. You may select the icon of the member name to view the client details.

  • The Members list is retrieved by based on the system date. The data will be retrieved specifically from the AsClassMembership table, driven by a comparison of ValidFrom, ValidTo, and EffectiveDate.

  • No updates will be allowed on the member information via the pop up screen.

Important: Each class will have one or more rules that specify the properties or criteria an individual must have in order to be included in the class. One such property for inclusion is an implied condition that the individual must be included in the class's parent for every node except the root node. It is possible for a class group to have just a single class. A member may only exist in one terminal class (which has no child node) within the class group.

Add Class Rule Variables

Allows the user to add new variables that may be applicable to a particular class. Variables defined at the class level are not visible to other classes. Click Add variable link enter the variable details and click Save.

Important: The Class Rule Variable names should not contain any blank spaces. All global and local variables should be declared in the context that they will be used.
